Facilitate substantive discussions throughout the year on exploring the term

We acknowledge that racism has been at DU since its founding 和 has been amplified in recent years by racist incidents. 除了, longtime actions have reinforced policies 和 practices that have fallen disparately on racially minoritized groups. This action item will facilitate substantive discussions throughout the year on exploring the term

  • W在这里 has 反种族主义 been practiced at DU/in your area?  In what ways has DU/your area fallen short of or engaged in 反种族主义?
  • What are 反种族主义’s implications in the context of DU’s past, present, 和 future?

These conversations would revolve around specific outcomes to make recommendations to the DEI Steering Committee 和 inform new strategic priorities at the university as well as unit-level strategic planning 和 programming.

莫里奇教育学院的学生, 科贝尔国际研究学院, 以及社会工作研究生院 launched a campus wide-series of reading groups 和 related curriculum in Fall of 2020. (ABC), sustained conversations over the meaning 和 application of antiracist practices occurred all over campus. Klaudia Neufeld (with the support 和 guidance of MCE faculty) developed a qualitative study to inform the development of the next ABC program (expected in Fall 2021) 和 to prepare a conference proposal for submission to the UCEA Graduate Student Summit later this year.

The ABC team has asked that we communicate gratitude for all ABC survey participants who nominated antiracist scholars, 书籍和资源,欢迎学生, faculty 和 工作人员 leaders to join their efforts as they continue leading the curriculum development 和 evaluation planning of the student-led, 反种族主义计划. They are looking forward to sharing their study’s results by the end of April 2021.
